Biting, Hitting & Swearing-Oh My! Inclusive Positive Guidance in Early Childhood

This workshop helps early childhood educators understand, prevent, and respond to challenging behaviours such as biting, swearing, hitting and tantrums. Participants will learn practical strategies, grounded in child development, to guide children’s behaviour in positive and supportive ways.

Learning Outcomes:

• Understand what drives challenging behaviours in young children.
• Recognize the importance of relationships, environment, and emotional regulation. 
• Identify practical and inclusive positive guidance strategies for biting, hitting and swearing which aligns with the NSELCF.
• Build confidence responding calmly and effectively to challenging moments.
